Seemed like a nice place in the beginning with all the nice landscaping, etc. Rent is on the high side to begin with, but when you add up all their monthly charges and service fees, it's hard to afford. Laundry here is very expensive! And don't ask for things to get fixed around here, they only give excuses and don't follow through. I've lived here over a year and a half and still don't have my name on the directory to 'buzz' someone in. I live on the 3rd floor and am almost 60 yrs old and I have to go up and down 3 flights of stairs to let someone in. I had a medical emergency and almost died and couldn't get down to the door to let anyone in to help me at that point, and, during my recovery. Even with this, management STILL has not fixed it!!! My dishwasher doesn't work and all they keep telling me EVERY TIME I tell them about it is "you have to let the hot water run for a really long time before running the dishwasher". (Like there is no heating element in the dishwasher???) Or, "you have to wash your dishes really good before putting them in." The last time the maintenance guy was here he repeatedly told me "these are very cheap dishwashers. The same thing will happen if you get a new one. They're the cheapest dishwashers you can get." Nice. Then he got mad and stormed out of my apartment when I said "this is so frustrating." (Not the first time I've witnessed him getting angry about having to do something). Apparently I'm not getting a new one. Another neighbor, who just had enough of management here and moved out, had a dishwasher that leaked. They told her to run the machine through a cycle and it will stop. So she had to do that every time it leaked!!! She also had a problem with cockroaches and was told to wait until the following week when the exterminators would be here. Not acceptable! They told her there was no problem here with cockroaches. They lied! She was at least the 3rd person in our building to complain about them, over a three month period, with one person moving out due to infestation!!! I guess management doesn't think neighbors talk to one another! That's when she found a better place to move to! Another neighbor was also told to 'run the hot water for a long time' when his pipes were clogged. Because maintenance didn't listen to him, his floor eventually had to be ripped up to fix the pipes! The sliding doors around here are so old, most of them are extremely hard to open and close. Management tells EVERYONE they'll be put in a 'waiting list' for a new door. Some people have been waiting over two years! They also tell people to go out and buy 'WD-40' and spray it on your door if it's hard to open!!! That's what I do because I've found it's useless to complain here, and I have bad arthritis. They don't shovel snow here either. They just put that blue industrial salt on top of the snow to 'melt' it. It becomes chemical slush everywhere. They pour it profusely on the stairs of every building. There is no avoiding it! The dogs here can't walk on it. You see people carrying their dogs! The dogs are getting sick here! And we pay $30.00 per month per pet for 'pet rent' here!!! And the hallways are filthy with the salt! All the way up to the 3rd floor!!! Salt everywhere. The halls used to get cleaned once a week, but to save money, they got rid of that company and now the halls don't get cleaned! They also got rid of the weekly landscaping company to save money. It's sad to see all the beautiful plants, flowers, and bushes dying around here. That was the only thing nice around here. Sad. So many good people are moving out of here. Lots of empty apartments. It's really too bad. They keep raising the rent but do nothing for you if you need something.
